Butterfly Décor Plates measure approx. 25.8 cm x 18 cm
You will need:
Butterfly Décor Plate
Black card
Black acrylic paint or ink
Stamps: Heartistic Flowers Die Sheet DS30C258
Opalite inkpads: Orchid Ice, Cypress Frost, Nordic Ice
Sponges
Versamark inkpad
Clear embossing powder
Artificial flower stamens for antennae
Small black feathers
Pearl gemstones for flower centres
Apply 2 coats of black paint or ink to both sides of the Butterfly Décor Plate. Leave to dry.
Ink the large ‘geranium’ flower stamp with Versamark ink, stamp randomly over the Plate and emboss with clear powder. Repeat with the medium and small flower designs. If you wish you can make each side of the butterfly match.
Sponge the 3 Opalite inks in patches over the butterfly. Dry and wipe the excess from the flowers.
Ink the large flower with Orchid Ice ink and stamp on to the black card. Repeat with the small flower and the other two inks. You will need 4 large flowers (Orchid Ice), 6 small flowers (Cypress Frost) and 6 small flowers (Nordic Ice). Leave to dry and cut the flowers out.
Press the Versamark inkpad over each of the flowers and emboss with clear powder. While the powder is still hot, sprinkle on more powder and heat again. Repeat once more so the surface is smooth.
Heat each again to smooth the cut edges and lift the petals using a cocktail stick to shape the flowers.
Glue the large flowers over the large flowers on the butterfly and the small flowers on both small and large flowers as illustrated. Not every flower needs to be covered.
Glue a gemstone to the centre of each flower.
Glue the flower stamens behind the head as antennae.
Glue 3 black feathers to the butterfly as shown.
